I have been the General Manager at Whirlwind Print for over a year. I started at Whirlwind twelve years ago as an Executive Assistant, within a year I was promoted to Customer Service Manager, then three years later I was promoted to Project Manager in this position I lead a software development project building our online ordering system and rolled out our lean continuous improvement program thought-out the business. I then became the IT Manager before securing my current role. This means I have a very holistic knowledge of Whirlwind.
Having worked in a myriad of roles throughout the organisation I could clearly see a lack of strategy execution. This highlighted to me that my first task as GM needed to be a review and redesign our organisational structure. This has led to over 30 people changes, either exiting or reshuffling to ensure we had the right people in the right roles to create our values based culture and that we execute and deliver on strategy for growth and sustainability
For the past three years I have engaged a personal business coach to learn the seven centres of business management. I also have a Post Graduate Certificate in Project Management and Diplomas in Lean Manufacturing; and Agile Project and Change Management. YES, I enjoy learning both on the job and formally.
I am passionate about people (perhaps this is why I have made four little ones of my own).
I’m inspired by Tony Robbins, Richard Branson and Gail Kelly. I admire their energy, commitment and willingness to share their stories.
I like to help people reach their full potential, by learning what their key drivers are, where they want to go and help them develop the skills required for their next steps.
Me in five words; ambitious, smart, honest, energetic and collaborative.
