Learn the lingo – what is meant by kinds?

Kinds:

When we refer to kinds we’re referring to the amount of times you require different artwork to be printed on the same specs (eg stock and size). Most often kinds come into play when ordering business cards, so if you require business cards for four people, this is four kinds.

The artwork files for four kinds can have simple differences across the range (such as names and contact numbers), or be completely different – as long as they’re on the same stock, same size and same finishes (like round corners or lamination) they pass.

When ordering through our online ordering system, make sure you select the correct number of kinds required. If you need 500 business cards for 4 people, select quantity 500 and kinds 4, that’s a total of 2000 cards to produce.

Kinds save you both time and money, as they enable efficiencies when setting up your print job. Printing kinds also provides colour consistency throughout the range.
There are three kinds of business cards shown in the image. All with the black front and three kinds created by using a range of images on the back.
